Soothing and Exfoliating
Milk is known for its skin soothing properties and has been used in baths for thousands of years. When added to soap, milk makes a hard, rich bar with a very creamy and smooth lather.
Oatmeal is also soothing to the skin and finely ground oatmeal ("colloidal oatmeal") is frequently prescribed as a bath addition to relieve itchy or irritated skin. We use coarse, food-grade rolled oats in our soap. In this form it not only helps create a soothing soap, it is also just slightly rough, so it helps to exfloiate the skin by removing any dead skin cells.
Our Oatmeal Buttermilk Soap is unscented and uncolored, but the ingredients give it a slightly nutty aroma and a tawny-beige color.
Ingredients: Distilled water, soy oil, palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, sodium hydroxide, shea butter, olive oil (pure), castor oil, pure buttermilk powder, rolled oats and stearic acid (from palm oil). For more information on the ingredients, see our Glossary of Ingredients
